Long bio
Dominic de Souza is a novelist, brand strategist, and community builder whose work ranges across fiction, branding, faith, myth, science, and deep history. Born in New Zealand, raised in Australia, and educated in Fiji and France, he grew up in a large family and finished his first novel at thirteen. In adulthood he built a career in marketing and design, completing thousands of creative projects while continuing to write fiction and develop story worlds. During the pandemic years he founded LegendFiction, a community for storytellers who treat fiction as vocation. He also runs SagaBrand and works with Heroic Men, where his role spans marketing and research and development. His books include Legends of the Fall, A Guide to On Fairy Stories, Start Your Saga Brand, and the children’s fantasy The Ring of Fantasy. Across books, essays, interviews, and community work, de Souza returns to a recurring question: what becomes possible when imagination is treated as a frontier? His interests include Tolkien’s sub-creation, Catholic spirituality, ancient history, emerging ideas about consciousness, worldbuilding, creative identity, and the ways stories form people and communities.
